A written proposal should make the important terms easy to find
- The legal name of the proposed buyer
- The property and interest being purchased
- The price and how long the proposal remains available
- How the price was assessed
- Any inspection, survey, valuation or title conditions
- When and why the figure may change
- Evidence or explanation of the funding route
- Target exchange and completion dates
- Fees, legal-cost contributions and other deductions
- Exclusivity, cancellation and access terms
- What happens if either party withdraws
- The complaint process and any external redress route
Ask your own solicitor to review the documents before you sign.
