Written Property Offer Checklist

A printable checklist of information to look for in a written quick-sale property proposal.

A written proposal should make the important terms easy to find

  • The legal name of the proposed buyer
  • The property and interest being purchased
  • The price and how long the proposal remains available
  • How the price was assessed
  • Any inspection, survey, valuation or title conditions
  • When and why the figure may change
  • Evidence or explanation of the funding route
  • Target exchange and completion dates
  • Fees, legal-cost contributions and other deductions
  • Exclusivity, cancellation and access terms
  • What happens if either party withdraws
  • The complaint process and any external redress route

Ask your own solicitor to review the documents before you sign.

Submitting this form does not create an offer or obligation to sell. Any proposal remains subject to valuation, due diligence, legal checks and contract.

Understand the price and the process before deciding

A faster direct sale will usually involve a lower price than a longer open-market sale. Ask for the proposed buyer, funding route, conditions and costs in writing, then take independent legal advice.
